Spring Break

Spring break was a whirlwind of so many different things. Usually we head to Phoenix, but this was the first year that we decided to stay here. Ryne's goal was to fly, work, and work on homework, and that is just what he did. He completed a very exciting step in his schooling and he is now a Commercial Multi-engine Pilot! But... Let's back up. We started off our break with a trip to the Dallas area. We stopped by to visit our friends Steven and Rhea!

This is such a cool shot of Daddy and Sam!

Sam LOVES playing with balls of any sort. He didn't want to put them down!

That night was a first for Ryne and I. We tried Crawfish for the first time... or mudbugs!

I was impressed with the process...

Later in the week it was warm enough for the kids to play in the water. Sammy wanted to be outside but didn't actually want to get wet.

These capture Sam in the best way. He loves to be half clothed (all the time) and is SO happy. He is such a joy!

In between all of that, we had chores around the house, flights, etc. We finished off the week with a TERRIFIC Saturday. Daddy took us all out to a family breakfast.

I love this shot and really see the resemblance between Ryne and Riley.

Me and Sammy.

Me and Sammy being silly :)

Afterwords we headed to the park to play

The loved climbing this thing and they were both very determined!

After we played at the park we headed home to meet HONEY AND PREACHER!!!
We were excited to go to the Zoo with them that afternoon while daddy worked.
First thing we saw when we got there were the flamingo's.

Sam was so curious about everything.

Thanks for coming Leah...

I have fond memories of looking at the Giraffe's from the very spot when I was a kid. It was neat to get to bring my kiddos.

Can you spot us in the crowd?

Group shot...

They sure do love Riley and Sam, and Riley and Sam love them!

My little Leah. I love you SO much. I was glad I got to see you... (missed you Hannah)

We even saw a Baylor Bear :)

I thought that the bird walk-about was really neat. Riley was concerned for the birds. She kept telling people to stay still because we were scaring the birds! She has such a sweet, tender heart.

My dad and I thought it was hilarious that there was a squirrel in an exhibit! (ok so it snuck in there, but it was funny)

Sam loved talking to the goats at the petting Zoo.

Riley was a little timid at first.

Sunday afternoon before all the school madness began again... the kids and I headed out to the pond to feed the ducks and enjoy the wonderful weather. We even played a little baseball while we were there too. (Sam's new all time favorite past time)

Sam just looked like such a little man in all of these photos. Riley's sweet spirit is so grown up too. I missed not getting to see family in Phoenix, but some of the time that we had together that week was priceless. It was most certainly a much needed break for our busy little family.
